Here are some of the Steampunk guns from Ohayocon.  Oh, and a few characters too!

Our Characters

Before we start posting pictures of us in our costumes at Ohayocon, I wanted to give you a detail or two about who we are.

Priscilla Sinnot is an adventuress extraordinaire!  Prissy has left her studies to seek fortune and fame.  Currently, the only success she has experienced is finding trouble.  Mayhem is her best friend.  Prissy dreams of being the Captain of her own airship...the B. Wilde II.

Cyrus Vance, leader of B.O.S.S, is a procurement specialist and inventor!   He is always active trying to stay one step ahead of the law!  Cyrus works hard at not having to work.  He is a great friend....unless he owes you money.

Bella Gunne (that's me) is a Secret Agent!  She travels the world, undercover of course, and dons many disguises and costumes in her search for villains.  Bella will go to great lengths in order to catch the bad guy!  You may have been introduced to one of her many undercover aliases.  Maybe you've met Valeria Valentine, Beatrix Bustworthy or LaVerna LeStrange...just to name a few.

What Is Steampunk?

We usually explain it to people as "Victorian Meets SyFy".  As you will see in the quote below, we are right on!

"In three short words, steampunk is Victorian science fiction.  Here "Victorian" is not meant to indicate a specific culture, but rather references a time period and aesthetic:  the industrialized 19th century.  Historically, this period saw the development of many key aspects of the modern world (mechanized manufacturing, extensive urbanization, telecommunications, office life and mass-transit), and steampunk uses this existing technology and structure to imagine an even more advanced 19th century, often complete with Victorian-inspired wonders like steam-powered aircraft and mechanical computers."

Prissy's Jacket Alterations

Priscilla Sinnot purchased a brown corduroy jacket that was exactly the right Steampunk style.  However, she needed to make it a little larger.  So, she cut off the sleeves, opened them up and cut panels of fabric from them.  Then, she inserted the panels into the sides of the jacket.  She's still working on some final details.  You'll have to wait a few more days to see her completed SP jacket.

Goggles

Hi, Bella here.  We are only a couple days away from Ohayocon.  Prissy, Cyrus and I are getting very excited.  We have all been busy working on last minute costume details and accessories.  Check out the goggles Prissy is working on.

Prissy's headband

18 days to Ohayocon

Hello!  Bella here.  Prissy and I are busy finalizing our costumes for Ohayocon 2011.  I'm working on a costume that is a bit punked Steampunk.  A least that's how I see it.  Here are a couple pics.  You'll get to see the finished version after Ohayocon.  I have the costume pinned to a dressform.  So, that's why it's all red underneath. 

Of course, I'll be wearing a black cami under the lace tank.  I'm not going into the risque` Steampunk world!
