Gearing Up for Event Season

Sorry to have been slacking on posts through the winter.  We have been very busy with other business.  Our first event of the year will be the Steampunk Symposium in Cincinnati.  April 26-28.  Bella is busy working on her airship military uniform.  Here are the before and after pictures of the jacket.

Steampunk @ Gettysburg Civil War Style

Prissy has been busy creating a costume for this event.  Here are some in-process pictures. 

Dyeing Lace & Trim

Prissy couldn't find the right color of trim for her costume.  So, she bought white trim and used a scrapbook product, called Glimmer Mist, to change the color.  She also added boiling water and 3 Tablespoons of white vinegar.  It's just like dyeing Easter eggs. 

Dress Re-Do

Bella is busy sketching a new design to rework a prom formal.  Trying to make it look more Victorian without adding tons of weight.  Here's the 1st rough draft showing the back of the dress.

Picking a Costume

In preparation for our upcoming events, we are busy searching the internet for ideas.  This site, Recollections, has many wonderful costumes and accessories!
