Yesterday you saw some of what we created. Today, Cyrus will walk you through creating your Steampunk medals.
Step 1 cut small piece of ribbon. Length is your choice. Fold one end into a point and iron down to make a crease. Step 2 cut a small piece of floral wire and twist to make a small loop in the middle.
Step 3 fold the corners over the wire and glue down. I used both fabric glue and E6000.
Step 4 add a firm backing, suggest sheet styrene plastic. Glue plastic to back of ribbon, add more glue on plastic and fold over.
Step 5 glue pin bar onto back of ribbon.
Step 6 using a jump ring attach your medal or chosen accessory.
Prissy, Bella and I used grosgrain ribbon, sticks of brown floral wire, Fabri-Tac, E6000 and scrapbook accessories from 7 Gypsies, Making Memories and Tim Holtz. We purchased everything at JoAnns, Archivers and our local hobby store. Your local Michaels or Hobby Lobby may also carry what you need to create your own award winning accessories.
and Cyrus Vance, our B.O.S.S. counterpart

Steam Into Spring: Session 1
This past weekend, Cyrus, Prissy and Bella had a full day of costume and prop designing. Look at some of the stuff we have in the works.
To Kill a Mockingbird
During the 1st Steam Into Spring Steampunk design session, this is what our table looked like.....
Feathers were everywhere. What did we create with all those feathers?
These are 2 headbands that Prissy created. One for the Engine Room event and the other for the Gaslamp Cabaret!

These pics are of Bella's accessories for her Gaslamp Cabaret costume for the Steampunk World's Fair. You will have to wait until after the event in May to see the completed look! {I know, that's really mean, but I can't help it!}

NERF guns are the fave for Steampunkers! The Maverick is probably the most common gun steampunked. Check out this display from Wal-Mart and the newest gun to strike Cyrus's fancy.....

Harry Potter Steampunk Goggles
Prissy made these. She attached them to a headband. Very original idea if you ask me. Looks cool without all the weight of a hat & goggle combo.
As the title states, these started out as Harry Potter costume glasses! Cool!
